The Globe caters for players of all ages and has a thriving junior section. The fees and joining subscriptions are on a sliding scale depending on the age and category of membership. A short play-in session is required in order to become a member. The play-in is an informal, relaxed 10-15min hit, to gauge the standard of the applicant. You don't have to be Roger Federer or Serena Williams! But you do need to be able to rally from the back of the court, volley and serve. This basic standard ensures that you can enjoy playing with others and they enjoy playing with you. If you are a little rusty, why not contact one of the coaches for a refresher lesson or two before having a play-in. If you are a total newcomer to tennis, don't despair, an Improver category exist to help you pick up the game. Improvers can hone their skills at their own pace until they are ready to move up to another membership category. Whatever your standard, whatever your age and background, The Globe welcomes you on and off the court.

The Full Membership category entitles a member to book courts and play at any time. There is usually a short play-in session to qualify for membership.

For members in the Day-time category the booking of courts and play is restricted between 9:00am and 5:00pm Monday to Friday.

The Student and Under 21 membership category is open to those in full time education or under the age of 21. Members of this category enjoy all the benefits of a full member, but pay reduced joining and entrance fees. As with Full Membership a short play-in test is required before joining.

The Improver category is reserved for players who are not quite up to the club's playing standard, but who would like to improve their game. On joining, the Improver member is enrolled in a programme that includes a mixture of free play and professional coaching scheduled for weekday mornings and Saturday and Sunday evenings.

To qualify for the Junior membership category the applicant must be between 7 and 15 years old. Specific courts and playing times are reserved for junior members along with complimentary coaching sessions on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
